The North and South Branch watershed is characterized by rolling hills, beautiful rivers and streams, abundant wildlife, historic villages and scenic views. It’s a great place to explore on foot, in a kayak, on a bicycle, by horseback or by car. The watershed spans 470 square miles in Hunterdon, Morris and Somerset counties and includes two of the state’s largest water supply reservoirs, Round Valley and Spruce Run. The southern part of the watershed is in the state’s Piedmont region, while the northern part is in the more rugged Highlands region.
