Neighborhood litter cleanup for individuals and small groups

Litter is harmful to wildlife, water quality, and human health.

You can make a difference by cleaning up litter right in your neighborhood.

Each small cleanup contributes to the overall health of the environment.

If you want to become more involved, join our annual stream cleanup in April

Here’s how you can help:

CLEANUP YOUR NEIGHBORHOOD

Grab gloves, a trash bag, and enlist a few friends, family members, or a neighbor and go for a walk through the neighborhood, community park, or another public area and pick up litter and trash along the way. Complete the litter survey with your mobile device during your cleanup or online when you get home. Your data will be part of our watershed-wide litter evaluation. Take and share pictures here and on social media.

IDENTIFY LITTER HOTSPOTS

If you prefer not to pick up litter but still want to help, you can complete our Observation Survey. The information you provide will help us learn where littering is occurring in our watershed. We can target these areas for future cleanups.

For questions email Trish McGuire, Outreach Manager at tmcguire@raritanheadwaters.org
