Dear Friends,
I’m reaching out with a deep sense of urgency. Each day at Raritan Headwaters we are reminded that our water resources are more fragile than ever. Over the past year alone, our watershed faced unprecedented challenges: an earthquake that compromised water infrastructure and private wells, toxic PFAS contamination, and severe flooding that eroded streams and degraded water quality.
As I witness these threats firsthand, I am more certain than ever that our work to protect clean water is essential for the wellbeing of our communities—both human and wildlife. At RHA, we are dedicated to proactive, science-based solutions to safeguard our watershed’s health and resilience. From restoring streams and removing obsolete dams to planting trees and preserving land, we work tirelessly to ensure that the Upper Raritan watershed region supports clean water, healthy lands, and vibrant communities.
This year, the call for our expertise grew tremendously: residents sought help with impacted wells, municipal officials needed education on stormwater management, state and academic leaders required access to our data, and parents were eager to enroll their children in our popular nature camps. As a small nonprofit with a big mission, we rely on the support of dedicated individuals like you to help us sustain this vital work and meet the demand for our services.
Please consider making a year-end gift to Raritan Headwaters. Your support will benefit your community and over 1.5 million people downstream who depend on the clean water we protect. Together, we can ensure that this is a place where clean water, outdoor experiences and thriving ecosystems are accessible and safe for everyone.
Thank you for standing with us. I wish you a joyful holiday season.
With heartfelt gratitude,
Mara Tippett
