We, seven of us, had a great walk yesterday. Three new spring arrivals – an Osprey, Chipping Sparrows singing in the parking lot and an unprecedented 23 Palm Warblers. They seemed to be everywhere including under the feeders. Raptors were well represented. In addition to the Osprey we had one Redtail, two Red- shoulders, one Cooper’s and Black and Turkey Vultures. One Golden-crowned Kinglet was foraging in the line in the parking lot. Field Sparrows were singing everywhere. Unfortunately lots of cowbirds were present too. Soon we should see towhees, Louisiana Water Thrushes, House Wrens and Barn Swallows.
Can’t wait for next week. Join us if you can.
